NAVIGATION SPECIALTY
Have you ever felt lost underwater, or would you like to be the one to lead the group back to the boat? The SSI Navigation specialty will provide you with the tools and confidence needed to orient yourself with precision, making you a much more autonomous and safe diver. You will no longer depend solely on the guide to know your position.
What will you learn in this course?

Compass Use: You will master the use of the underwater compass to follow straight headings, squares, and triangles, always returning to the starting point.

Natural Navigation: Learn to read the seabed, rock formations, currents, and sunlight to orient yourself without the need for instruments.

Distance Estimation: You will learn different techniques to calculate how far you have traveled and how to plan successful return routes based on your air consumption.
💡 Ideal Combination: This specialty is the perfect complement to combine with the Night Diving course (where orientation is vital for moving in the dark) or Perfect Buoyancy to be able to navigate with total control and stability while checking your compass.

Prerequisites: Open Water Diver certification.

Structure: Interactive digital theory, review session, and 2 open water dives exclusively dedicated to orientation practice.

Certification: Upon completion, you will receive your official SSI Navigation digital certification.
