SSI - Night & Limited visibility
NIGHT & LIMITED VISIBILITY
Have you ever wondered what happens underwater after the sun goes down or when visibility decreases? The SSI Night & Limited Visibility program allows you to discover a completely new side of the marine world. Many animals that hide during the day come out to hunt and feed, offering a spectacle of life and colors that can only be seen under the light of your dive torch.
What will you learn in this course?
-
Communication techniques: Learn how to use your light to signal your buddy and the guide in the dark or in conditions of reduced visibility.
-
Safety procedures: Master how to enter and exit the water safely and how to maintain contact with the group when visibility is not optimal.
-
Specific orientation: Advanced techniques to maintain your sense of direction and return safely to the boat using references and instruments.
-
Nightlife observation: Discover species that are only active at night, such as octopuses, lobsters, and various crustaceans, seeing their true colors under the torch light.
💡 Ideal Combination: This specialty is, for example, perfect to combine with the Navigation course (to master compass use with low visibility) or Perfect Buoyancy, as good control is vital to avoid touching the bottom when your vision is limited to the beam of light.
